Hello Mr. Secretary!

Parker "hypnotized" the 4-6th graders into voting for him for Secretary of the Student Council.  Marcus helped him put the poster together, but he wrote his speech on his own. I did go for the speech, however the picture was terrible (trying not to complain about my "bad" camera).  His speech was basically this:

He wasn't allowed to bring a prop so we couldn't have him hypnotize the audience with one.  We got around that by drawing a watch on his hand! (Thanks to our friend, Savannah, for that idea)

On the count of three you will be under my control and do what I say.
1.2.3.  You will now do these three things:
1.  Vote for Parker for Secretary
2.  Bring me cake to school tomorrow
3.  Bring Ms. Karr chocolate (his favorite teacher from last year).
He snapped his fingers and brought everyone out of the "hypnotizing" and said "Thank you".

He did a great job.  He won Secretary, but did not get any cake.  However, Ms. Karr said she had about 8 people bring her chocolate bars, so she was happy!

Parker also had a busy week with Battle of the Books.

As you can see--very enthusiastic!  They didn't do all that well, but they liked trying!

Here Parker is with his rocket of a pinewood derby.  If you haven't heard, I don't like the pinewood derby.  I think its undue stress on parents and what is it really teaching them?  I think it ends up being a competition of the dads.  Anyway, he didn't do so hot, but what's new?  He had a great attitude!  I told him it was my best birthday present ever!
This would have been Ethan's first pinewood derby.  I'm a bit happy that we didn't have two to do.  But, I wanted to post this picture of how excited Ethan was Parker's first year!

You would have thought he was the winner this day!  Parker was actually sad because he didn't win, but Ethan was just excited to be there.  He wanted to have a car so badly.  All these awards and name tag, etc. that Ethan is holding were Parker's that year.  What a crack up!  Love this kid!

  1. Way to go Parker! What a great campaign idea. Cute picture of Ethan holding Parker's things. Love that he was so proud of his big brother.
