First Day of the New Year

Our first day back at school was yesterday, Monday, January 7 and that felt like more the new year than the real New Year's Day.

With all of our new goals for the year, we had quite the day.  We want to start with the important things and then we can fit in all the rest.  We know that studying the scriptures with our family is important, so that is number one on the agenda.  We've been okay with it before, but we have set up more of a study now AND an earlier wake up.  I always wished nights would work for us, but they don't.

We schedule each night now (just a few minutes) to make sure the next day will run smoothly.  Marcus helped me pick up kids from different activities and we seemed to fit it all in ---yesterday.

We are hoping the rest of the week runs smoothly.  We are also praying for ourselves that our goals can stay with us.  We sometimes start off strong and then fade (happen to anyone else?).  We want our goals to be just that--a goal to be met.

Our biggest one is our health goal.  We both know we could stand to lose some weight, but instead of making it a weight goal, we have decided to make it more of a health goal--exercise and eat better.  Eating better doesn't take much to be "better" because we eat terribly.

I share these in hopes that if they are public, that we can make our goals because more people know them.  I will pull out all the stops on this one :)
