As I listened to my sister cry last night (I was happy to return the favor), I realized again how fragile life really is. My sister's mother-in-law passed away yesterday very unexpectedly and at the young age of 53 (I think I have that right). My sister received a phone call eerily similar to the phone call I had made last year regarding Ethan. Cynthia was having a very difficult time yesterday but is an extraordinary person and has done great during the last 24 hours.
Her mother-in-law, Laschelle, was the best grandmother! I remember listening in awe to how much time and energy was spent with these babies. She lived and breathed her grandchildren. I hope to be half of what she was like. (I'm not sure my energy will ever be close). Cynthia is sad for her kids that they won't really remember their grandmother. However, I (and many others) will definitely share as much as possible with these kids because she is one grandma that would be hard to beat.
I didn't know Laschelle as much as I would've liked to. However, she raised an awesome son, my rockstar of a brother-in-law, Creston. (Creston is the one who reminded me I HAD hugged Ethan on the last night). I could not have asked for a better husband for my one and only sister. He's amazing and learned from a great mother. My heart goes out to Creston and his family today.
Life really is short. You never know what can happen the next day. Tell your loved ones you love them daily. My father-in-law says "Love them like every day is your last." I like that. I am going to continue doing this to the best of my ability.
Our life is a gift. Our life has a plan. Our life has a purpose. In heaven it began.
I know Laschelle is saying hi to my Ethan for me. She's that type of person. She is the one who took our beautiful funeral pictures that I treasure today.
Lots of love to the Schneiders
I'm so sorry for Cynthia. But I'm so glad that she found such a great man in Creston. Hope they will all find some peace and comfort.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree kim! Couldn't believe what nancy was telling me yesterday! Saw her at cade's birthday party and was so full of life! And then coming back from easter we passed her in the car, one arm out the window waving with all she had! Praying for the family.
