Ethan loves Jack!

Last year this FRIDAY was Friday, March 11.  It was Ethan's last day at school before Spring Break.  We now know it was his last day at school.  He loved his friends so much!  He always had birthday party invites.  So much so, I had to pick and choose which he went to because I was tired of buying gifts.  I was told by a couple of mom's he was "popular".  I didn't know they had any "popular" kids in the second grade.  However, his teachers told me he was just nice to everyone.  I didn't really know this before he died.  Meaning, I knew he had lots of friends, but didn't know he liked to include everyone.  He could be so naughty to his brother and sister that I had no idea what a good kid he was :)

This is not the famous "Jack".  However this dog was a close second.  This is Buddy (Aunt Suzette's dog) who lives at Grandma and Grandpa Ellsworth's now.  Ethan loved Buddy too!
Ethan always wanted a dog.

When Aunt Leah and Uncle Greg would come for visits they would bring their dog, Jack.  Ethan loved Jack!  He was the perfect playmate for Ethan.  Aunt Leah wasn't always fond of this because Ethan was crazy and would wear Jack out in no time at all.

Each Christmas we let our kids shop at the Dollar Store for gifts for their cousins and each other.  One year Ethan insisted on buying Jack a gift even though we didn't have Greg and Leah's name that year--I am pretty sure Ethan didn't buy any other cousin a gift that year...just his favorite dog cousin.  We let him buy Jack the gift. I never sent it in the mail but it sat under our tree that entire season. The gift was packed away and brought out the next year.  This particular year Ethan was able to give the gift to Jack. It was hilarious because it wasn't even a dog toy.  It was just a Christmas ornament for the tree, but one Ethan really wanted Jack to have.  He was so excited to give it to Greg and Leah for Jack!

We had a couple of dogs that lasted about 2 weeks with us.  First one, I gave away because I don't potty train dogs.  Second one, Ethan had dropped and broken its leg (as I mentioned before). I hope Ethan has a dog in Heaven.

  1. Ethan was a good kid. Never once did I think he was difficult or crazy while he was in Primary. He was a fun, cute kid who we all miss a ton! I can totally see how he would be the "popular kid." He was fun, energetic, outgoing and kind. His smile made you happy and he was a good friend. Ethan had an impact on everyone around him. Hope you are doing ok. Think about you daily and pray for you and your sweet family.
