After a crazy day of running around, Brady wouldn't go to sleep. He tends to do this when he gets over tired. Marcus is awesome about taking him and singing to him to get him a bit calmer. It doesn't always get him to sleep, but I can't "calm him" as much as Marcus can. (I think I am pretty much a tense person all the time)
However, as he sat to sing to him I heard "Close your sleepy little eyes, my little buckaroo". I just started to cry. I think that song will always bring a tear to my eyes.
Marcus has sung this song to all of our children, well...mainly the boys. Madilyn's not really a "buckaroo". But, he still did.
When Ethan was in the hospital, I think I've mentioned this, but Marcus would sing that song to him. I couldn't sing to Ethan in the hospital because it just hurt too much.
I can't tell you how much I LOVE listening to my husband sing to our children. Good times or bad, he is willing to sing (and has an awesome voice, which helps).
Thanks honey!

Tried to find one of Ethan sleeping, but couldn't. Here he is at 9 months walking around. I really need to compare this to a Brady picture. He reminds me of Brady in this one. |
Here are the lyrics he uses:
Close your sleepy little eyes, my little buckaroo
Can't you see the western moon is shining down on you
Now it's time to go to sleep, another day is through
So, close your sleepy little eyes, my little buckaroo
Close your tender little eyes, my little buckaroo
Now its time to ride the range, like grown up cowboys do
But you don't have to worry now, cause daddy's watching you
So, close your sleepy little eyes, my little buckaroo
