Froggy Goes to School

This picture was taken on our 10th anniversary.  It was supposed to be me and Marcus, but Ethan and Madilyn jumped in.
Ethan would always kind of scream with a scrunched up face "I don't like this" if he didn't like his food.  He did this at home and at other's homes. He was not discreet.

Ethan always, always wanted a dog.  We tried two different times to have one.  The second time it was a little puppy.  Ethan dropped it and broke its leg.  I was so mad I had to pay for a dog with a broken leg.  Those who know me know I am NOT an animal person.  Animals are cute, but not to have in homes.  The vet that morning could tell how not happy I was.  They offered to keep the puppy and we didn't have to worry about it.  Yep.  I'm a loser.  I gave the puppy to the vet.  Again, I wish I hadn't been so mad.  Ethan felt so bad and was so sad about not having the puppy.  He loved that little thing.  We only had it for two weeks.  I am now comforted by the phrase "All dogs go to heaven."  I'm sure Ethan can have any dog he wants now.

Ethan was a sugar freak!  Any sugar around he would definitely find!

Easter time last year I noted how much Ethan made the Easter Egg Hunt a race.  It was just a race to him.  He was okay if he got all the eggs and no one else did.  This changed a bit as he got a little older because he always took care of Madilyn and made sure she had her share.  He loved his little sister!

Lastly, Ethan absolutely LOVED the Froggy books.  Froggy goes to Camp, to school, to wherever.  I think he liked them because the mom or teacher would always call "FFFRRROOOGGGYYY".  I think he identified with that.  Whenever we went to the library he would get as many Froggy books as he could check out.  When he would read at night, it was always a Froggy book.  I have a hard time picking up and reading any Froggy books now.  I just think of Ethan when I do.

Ethan, you are the best.  Daddy would always tell you "Out of all the boys in the world, how did I end up with the best one?"  He would ask you every night.  I hope you know you are the best and we hope you continue to watch out for your sister and the rest of us!

  1. Froggy books are the best. I love when Froggy has to zip, zap, zup to get his clothes on or when he is always, "looking a little more red in the face then green." Ethan was right though, the best part of The Froggy books are when his mom, coach or teacher have to yell his name to get his attention...FROOOOOOOGGGGYYY! Good choice of books Ethan! :)

Oh and guess what Kim...I would have handed that puppy over to the vet also. Not a fan of animal PETS!
