Madilyn is wonderful. I had a bad couple of days this last week, and she just comforts me. The one night she wanted to watch videos of Ethan. She loves the one where he kicks her down on the trampoline. We get to watch that one over and over. However, as we were watching I had just checked an email from agoodgrief.com where they do a in memoriam video of all the families they have helped purchase headstones for their children who have passed. They did not help us because so many others had, but the video was very moving (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBhoOZGLrfk They do this video as part of a yearly fundraiser) I was crying. Madilyn just kept patting me on the back and telling me it was okay. It is okay. I told her I was fine, but mom just needed to cry.
She loves going to grief counseling. She and Parker really enjoy the pizza we start our night out with. They also love the groups and activities they do. Madilyn enjoyed the journaling this past week, but it wasn't Parker's favorite. Here is her cover:

I am pretty sure it says "I love my big brother and I miss him so much."

This is her entry:

This says "Me and my brother used to throw the washcloth over the shower with me"

I hope she doesn't hate me one day for posting these. However, the shower activity, I think, is her favorite memory. She loved when she would be in the bathtub and Ethan was in the shower because they would always throw the washcloth back and forth. Mom thought this was a terrible activity because it got the bathroom all wet. They would get in trouble. But, she loves that they did this together and both loved it! Because she is so young, she doesn't have too many memories that don't coincide with a video. So, I like sharing this one because its HER OWN memory.
She misses having Ethan around, but absolutely loves Parker. He is such a good big brother to her. He is always worried if she okay and if she is happy. He's been like that since the day she was born.
Good kids.
I love you two. Thanks for being such great kids. I am the luckiest mom (once again!)
So sweet! I love her memory of the washcloth - that is so cute! It's a great illustration of how Ethan was - he was doing something that was maybe a little bit naughty but he was doing it to make someone else laugh and be happy. :)
