I took only ONE picture on this day and can't find it. Our drive was a bit longer than we expected coming from the Bed and Breakfast down to Lancaster, PA. Someone had suggested we drive through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. We didn't know they had one! So, we took that route. Well, it was beautiful. However, with all the trees you couldn't really tell you were in a canyon and I wouldn't choose to go this way again unless we had time to stop and actually enjoy the area--camp, swim, etc. We just drove through. All it did, really, was add and hour and a half to the drive.
We made it to Lancaster and Amish Country for dinner. Yummy food. I wanted to take pictures of the Amish people and their buggies, but Marcus said it was rude and wouldn't let me. However, his reaction to seeing his first real Amish people in a buggy was priceless and I won't need any pictures to remember it. I grew up in the Ohio area, so I had seen the Amish before and my reaction wasn't as profound.
After eating dinner in a yummy Amish restaurant, we headed to the Sights and Sounds Theatre and saw their rendition of Jonah, which was awesome. The sets were amazing and we're really not sure where they put them all---huge set pieces on and off, yet the stage didn't seem that big back there. The show was great, the kids liked it-except Brady. Brady enjoyed the children's room the most. I watched the show on the TV they had in the children's room while Brady went up and down a slide for about an hour or so. I did get to see the second half in the theatre while Brady fell asleep. Joys of a one year old on a trip.
i have a couple pictures from the jonah play if you would like them. they are on my phone.
