Madilyn was back in school today. Yay! Yay because we don't have so much work to make up--she can get it done at school. Yay because her rash doesn't look nearly as bad. After the rash not being chicken pox, she was tested for any bacterial or viral infections and valley fever. All of that was normal. So, they think its an allergic reaction. We're not sure to what?? But, that is the next quest. Yep, more doctors! This girl sees more doctors. I'm actually amazed how well she holds up with how many doctors she sees. Its probably not that many in comparison to others, but its the most I've ever had to worry about.
Ear Update: We did find out Madilyn does have to have ear surgery. I'm trying to hold off for deductible reasons until November, but we'll see. She has a cholesteotoma in both ears. This is a skin cyst that grows around the hearing bone and disintegrates the bone. Thus, this requires two surgeries on each ear. The first surgery is to remove the cholesteotoma. Then she heals for six months. The second surgery is when they reconstruct the hearing bone with titanium. And then she heals from that. They don't want to do both ears at the same time, just in case something goes wrong??? For the safety and the hearing of the patient, they do one ear at a time.
Now we're off to celebrate Ethan's birthday this weekend. I am emotional already and kinda don't want to do it. But....we should.
